Does the Loli Genre Have Ties to Pedophilia?

GameFaqs

Lolicon: "Japanese discourse or media focusing on the attraction to young or prepubescent girls." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolicon

According to the definitions, the comparison seems pretty cut and dry... Well, maybe not.

First, we should understand that the Japanese culture regarding pedo actions is likely vastly different than everyone's respective cultures on here. Literally just last spring, Japan just now passed a ban on child pornography. People are given a years grace period to "get rid of" the child porn content i.e. Find a million ways to store it except on you cpu's hard drive. If caught in possession of said material, a punishment of ONE year maximum in prison is possible. Not exactly a heavy handed deterrent.

Now, by definition alone, the Loli genre and pedophilia are basically the same thing to the non anime viewer. Or, at the very least, Lolicon contributes to the continuation of pedo activities in Japanese culture. Most anime fans would argue that just because you see something on TV, video games, movies etc doesn't directly cause a person to emulate said activity. The popular analogy is GTA. Just because someone plays GTA, that wouldn't make them more likely to run out and start stealing cars and murdering hookers. However, that compassion doesn't exactly apply 100%. If a person was getting sexual gratification from killing hookers in GTA, then they are off to begin with.

Another argument is that the Loli genre helps to keep the pedo culture alive in Japan. Is there any reason for Shiro, in NGNL, to be an 11 year old girl that gets naked constantly? Now anime fans would argue that is just harmless fan service... Something that has been ingrained in anime culture since the beginning. However, couldn't one assume that if you found something like the Loli attractive, you'd be more likely to find yourself looking for that same sort of attractiveness in real life. That is the inherent issue. Is Loli girls just an anime gag, or are they meant to make the viewer hold a sexual desire towards them?

One last argument is the freedom of speech angle. If the government of Japan were to come out an ban all Loli mediums, that would be an infringement on the people's basic human rights. It would take an Evil Knievel tricycle Grand Canyon jump in logic, to think that the government would use that as a way to begin to strip their citizens of their rights and power. However, the founding Fathers of America believed that the government acted in that regard. Your liberties were not swooped in and taken at once, but slowly and very discretely eroded through government legislation and policy.

How do you stand on the issue? Just an anime thing and nothing more, or possibly a genre that implies or could lead to other illegal and immoral activities. Should it stay or should it go?

Edit: Clear up any possible poll confusion. If you think Loli genre does have ties to pedophilia, you should probably vote to not have it in anime. This should be common sense, but just incase.

ISIS planning mass attack in BRITAIN: Chemical weapon threat high says security chief

ISLAMIC State (ISIS) is planning a mass attack on Britain and could use chemical weapons to cause the most devastation, a minister has warned.

Security minister Ben Wallace said the threat of a chemical attack was the potential realisation of "everybody's worst fear."

The extremist death cult has alread been accused of using chemical weapons in Syria and Iraq, where it controls large swathes of land.

And in February, Moroccan authorities swooped on a cell which was allegedly storing substances that could be used to make a bomb or deadly ‘“toxin”.

Now security services fear Britain could be the next target for chemical warfare, following a year in which hundreds where killed across Europe in a string of deadly attacks.

Mr Wallace said: "Experts have warned that their ambition is a mass casualty attack and they have no moral barrier to using whatever means possible."

He also warned that he believe ISIS’s ambition was “mass casualty attacks” designed to harm and “terrorise as many people as possible.”

Mr Wallace added: "They have no moral objection to using chemical weapons against populations and if they could, they would in this country.

"The casualty figures which could be involved would be everybody's worst fear.

"We have certainly seen reports of them using it in Syria and Iraq (and) we have certainly seen aspiration for it in Europe."

The stark warning comes at the end of a year in which Europe suffered a catastrophic number of terror attacks.

However these used much less sophisticated means than a chemical attack would entail.

In two of the most high profile attacks in Nice, France, and Berlin, Germany, lone attackers drove lorries into crowds of people - killing and injuring dozens.

But mr Wallace warned Britain must also prepare for threats from “the enemy within”.

He claimed terror groups, Russia and cyber-attackers were trying to plant “traitors” in the government, the military and leading businesses.

The minister said: “There are traitors. We have to be on our guard for the enemy within.

“The insider threat, as we would call it, is real and it can be exploited and there are people trying to do that as we speak.”

There’s Another Horrifying Type Of Female Genital Mutilation You Haven’t Heard Of

Labia stretching is a popular form of genital mutilation, common in countries like Africa and parts of the UK, in which women try to elongate their inner labia.

While some women might voluntarily do it, the act becomes illegal and is considered a human rights violation to all women when it’s done to children.

According to the BBC video below, girls are taught from a young age that having a longer inner labia will get make them more attractive to men.'

What’s the appeal of the elongated labia? Well, it is believed that men will enjoy sex because it gives them something to “play” with, and that a longer labia will improve sex for women by increasing friction against their genitals, upping their chance at achieving orgasm.

It is believed that men will enjoy sex because it gives them something to “play” with, and that a longer labia will improve sex for women by increasing friction against their genitals, upping their chance at achieving orgasm. Girls as young as nine are pulling or tugging at their vaginal lips to make them longer — as long as five inches. Some will even go to greater lengths, tying weights or strings to the lips to help speed up the stretching process.

Girls as young as nine are pulling or tugging at their vaginal lips to make them longer. Labia stretching is also seen as a bonding activity of sorts. Girls are also encouraged to “help” each other out by pulling at each other’s labias, and in the meantime, they’ll gossip about the latest drama.

The risky practice comes along with some not-so-minor health risks.

Most obviously, as the above video describes, physically stretching out that skin can result in tears and lacerations in the vagina.

Furthermore, Key Correspondents (an HIV awareness program) finds that the girls put themselves at a higher risk of contracting an STD by touching each other’s labia out without any gloves on their hands. It leaves room for them to contract diseases as they pull multiple girls and increase the possibility of transferring vaginal fluids and blood.

Girls put themselves at a higher risk of contracting an STD by stretching each other’s labia out without any sort of gloves on their hands. Also, women in these communities end up paying the price for this big-time. They feel an extra pressure to orgasm every time they have sex and are thrown out of their homes and shunned from their communities for failing to do so.

Now, your vagina is your vagina, and you’re allowed to do whatever you want with it as a fully independent adult. And many women do choose to have the procedure done as fully consenting adults.

That being said, it does not change the fact that labia stretching is objectively considered a form of genital mutilation by the World Health Organization’s definition. The WHO defines genital mutilation as “procedures and practices meant to intentionally injure or alter the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.”

The WHO defines genital mutilation as “procedures and practices meant to intentionally injure or alter the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.” Also, the simple fact that the act is considered female genital mutilation does not necessarily make it illegal.

The best way to put an end to something like this is to simply educate women of the risks that come along with it, as the police in the UK are attempting to do in the video.

However, if people are going to continue to do it the best thing we can do is to make sure they are doing it in a clean and safe manner.

Why don’t terrorist organisations use chemical or bio-weapons instead of bombs?

Chemical and bio-weapons can be concealed better and are more efficient and cost-effective. Terrorists don’t have ethical or juridical or religious restrictions to using them. So why do they use explosives instead?

Brian K. Price, 20 year (and 2 war) military veteran

As others have already pointed out, developing a chemical or biological weapon is extremely difficult. It takes experts in those fields as well as suitable facilities for their development. It also takes considerable time and money.

The most successful to date was Aum Shinrikyo who actively recruited scientists with this type of know how. These scientist did not leave their jobs to hang out in Afghanistan or Iraq or Syria. They remained in their laboratories in Japan. Which means they had access to some of the most advanced scientific equipment available. With this know how and access, they were able to produce Sarin to attack the Tokyo subway. In a confined space with a large number of people, practically the ideal location for the use of chemical weapons, they killed all of 12 people and seriously injured 50 more.

For comparison, the average suicide bomber kills 10 people. Very often they kill more. A truck bomb can kill hundreds of people.

And that’s with technology and know how that is about the high school level. Anybody can trigger a suicide vest. Almost anyone can build one.

Which isn’t to say that other terrorist groups haven’t attempted to build chemical and/or biological weapons of their own. Most groups consider the psychological impact of the weapons of far greater importance than the practical impacts. So even if you kill less people than you would with an IED, the resultant terror (and press coverage) would be substantial. Al Qaeda’s Pursuit of Weapons of Mass Destruction

When the US invaded Afghanistan, it found AQ’s attempts at developing Anthrax and Ricin. They found animals and empty cages and the found videos showing their experimentation. The Indonesian terrorist Hambali was one of their leaders in this effort and they also recruited several “scientists” (mostly graduate students) to develop these weapons. While they had some very minor successes, they could never produce to the level required for actual employment. (Afghanistan, especially under Taliban rule, was about the worst place to attempt any type of scientific endeavor. This is why chemical factories in other countries, such as the Sudan, get bombed or why the WMD threat in Iraq was considered such a threat.)

ISIL attempted to get around this problem by using a far simple chemical for its weapons, chlorine. Chlorine bombings in Iraq (back when they were still AQI) and Islamic State 'using chlorine gas' in Iraq roadside bombs - BBC News

This has nothing to do with an ethical limitation on what terrorists will use and everything to do with how difficult it is to produce compared to how useful it actually is. In the end, explosives are easier to get (or manufacture), they are easier to employ, and they kill more people than chemical or biological weapons with considerably less risk of the weapon causing literal “blow back.”

Matthew Franklin, Ex-Infantryman, Ex-Kendoka, recreational shooter

Chemical and biological weapons are NOT more efficient, or more cost-effective.

A chemical or bio-weapons program is a costly investment that requires long-term investment of capital and management to successfully weaponize product. Even then, reliable delivery can still be somewhat iffy. While you may be able to throw some ammonia cleaner and chlorine bleach together in your bathtub and give yourself a minor chemical burn and cause your eyebrows to fall out, to consistently create biochem weapons that you can successfully manufacture, store, and deploy (even if you don’t care about the survival of your operators), you need to expend a lot of time, money, and you need to have real estate that you can build secure facilities on that will be in operation for a number of years.

How many terrorist organizations attract postdoctorate-level chemists and disease experts? How many of them have the permanently-controlled real estate to set up the facilities to produce anthrax/VX/phosgene/botulism/tularemia/ebola in controlled conditions, and prepare it into specialized munitions and delivery systems? The Aum Shinryoko cult pretty much had to devote all of its resources to its program for years, which only ended up killing 13 people.

Chemical and biological weapons are difficult to employ. Japanese experiments with Unit 731 proved that you have to spray a LOT of anthrax to get desired results. Gas chemical weapons are heavier than atmosphere, and so are at the mercy of humidity and prevailing winds. After the first year of gas warfare in World War I, casualties dropped off dramatically and the weapon became more of a means of restricting mobility rather than causing casualties since everyone had chemical protection. It is much easier to train someone to operate firearms and simple explosive devices than it is to teach them all the protocols for successfully employing a chemical or bio-weapon for maximum effectiveness.

Explosives and gun attacks also seem to have more media “impact,” with the BOOM BOOM and BANG BANG, the clouds and fires from explosions, and all that. Terrorism, is after all, about perceptions. Dramatic attacks convey power and violence. Gas and germs…not so much, especially if it’s easily contained and low body count.

Cristian Ariel Rodriguez, Blacksmith. Military-political-science & history enthusiast.

As pointed, they are “complex” to make. Although chemical weapons are not that complex and can be made without lab equipment on improvised facilities with the proper chemicals.

The terrorist did use this kind of weapons in Syria. Several times the so called “moderated” beheaders have attacked the Syrian Army with Sarin gas and staged “government chemical attacks” against the civilians.

John Dane, Studies wars and warfare of the 20th century

Depends on which terror organization in question. Sure they’re sort-of cost effective but they aren’t efficient, they’re unpredictable, and the process to develop them is very, very, delicate. They don’t discriminate between friend or foe so a sick man heading their way or gusts of wind blowing in their direction will guarantee that their troops will die as well. As for the groups in question, that entirely depends on the resources they have, the know how, and the commitment. Thankfully, most of them lack two of the three. But there are some that are just that crazy and callous to go forward with that.

Omkar Bapat, I have knowledge of history

Because even evil has standards. Chemical and Bio munitions are extremely dangerous because they are too perfect. Once you release it, that’s it. There is no way for it to be cancelled, stopped or called back. The primary objective of such groups is to gain territory. What use is the territory if it is contaminated by bio or chemical agents? Also, such weapons are too cruel to be used as they produce devastating effects. Even Hitler refused to authorise poison gas as a weapon in war.

Simon Jäger

Actually, Terrorists do have ethical and moral restrictions. If terrorists would use biological weapons or poisons, which are difficult to control, the backlash would be bad. Even their own supporters might betray them, simply because biological weapons can be so dangerous. The whole world would hunt them down. A the moment, nobody is using biological weapons, nobody, not even the worst dictator.

As to chemical weapons, the offer no clear advantage to explosives, as far as i know. Explosives are actually rather easy to produce and hide.

It is only a question of time until butea superba will be outlawed in the Western World. In some people, it can cause hypersexualization that can last for weeks. And it can easily be added to food to improve taste. Imagine a Thai restaurant breeding hundreds of super horney women prowling for any man they can get, and that for weeks on end.

Your 'Unit' Can Now Be Enlarged By A Crazy Injection

FHM

It's pretty commonplace for people to be so dissatisfied with a part of their body that nowadays they just go ahead and undergo cosmetic surgery. Rhinoplasty for your nose, liposuction for your flab, lift this, snip that, you name it and there's a procedure for it. This includes your penis, by the way.

The question remains however, is it really worth? Does societal pressure or personal insecurity trump the idea of a needle injecting botox into the most prized and sensitive part of your body?

Well, Dr. Norman Rowe seems to think so. He told The Daily Mail

"In the last 10 years, we have seen the rise of so many "quick fix" operations like Botox - for the face, for the eyes... I spend so much of my day doing fillers on women's faces. I started to wonder: why can't I make it work for men?"

Hm, because faces and penises aren't exactly the same thing, but okay. Ultimately, the procedure is described as "a 10-minute Botox-style procedure can add 1.5 inches to the circumference of a man’s member." He also mentioned that there's no recovery time and NO pain. I'm sorry, but I have my doubts about the "no" pain element.

If you're interest as been peaked, you're more than welcome to take a look at his website, but I would tread lightly. I mean, it's not like you'll grow another one if something goes wrong.

New study about Africa is terrible news for climate-change alarmists

Proponents of the theory humans are primarily responsible for global warming have said for two decades that warmer temperatures would cause significant problems for the people of Africa. Crops would fail, water would dry up, and the lack of stability, coupled with these problems, would cause significant climate-change-related wars.

For instance, in 2015, Newsweek alleged global warming has already caused significant crises in Africa.

“In violence-plagued northern Mali, a desiccated landscape of dust and mud huts where the average rainfall is a third less than it was nearly two decades ago, scholars recently blamed a climate change–induced drought for fueling conflict between Tuareg separatist rebels, who need water and grass for their cattle herds, and government-backed forces. In March, the National Academy of Sciences published a peer-reviewed study stating that ‘there is evidence that the 2007–2010 drought contributed to the conflict in Syria. It was the worst drought in the instrumental record, causing widespread crop failure and a mass migration of farming families to urban centers.’ Some studies suggest climate change will produce permanent refugees.”

These kinds of sky-is-falling analyses rely on short-term views of regional and global climate changes, and they often fail to consider the numerous benefits of warming and/or increased carbon-dioxide levels, as evidenced by a new study showing increased CO2 has “driven” greening in Africa.

According to a study by Martin Brandt et al., published in the journal Nature Ecology & Evolution in May, 36 percent of the continent of Africa became greener over the 20-year period from 1992 to 2011, while only 11 percent became “less green.” Interestingly, the researchers found the increased greening was “driven” by higher carbon-dioxide levels and precipitation, and the decreased greening was largely a result of humans cutting down vegetation.

“Here we used a passive microwave Earth observation data set to document two different trends in land area with woody cover for 1992–2011: 36% of the land area (6,870,000 km2) had an increase in woody cover largely in drylands, and 11% had a decrease (2,150,000 km2), mostly in humid zones,” wrote the authors in their study’s abstract. “Increases in woody cover were associated with low population growth, and were driven by increases in CO2 in the humid zones and by increases in precipitation in drylands, whereas decreases in woody cover were associated with high population growth.”

This study, if accurate, serves as further proof that increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is not nearly as dangerous as so many alarmists say. In fact, historically, more-significant problems are linked to climates becoming colder, not warmer. This isn’t surprising, because when temperatures are higher and there is more carbon dioxide present, plants tend to grow better, which means animals and humans have more food to eat.

Local authorities arrested 69-year-old Clive Robert Kingsley Cressy at a cafe in Phnom Penh following reports from his alleged victims, according to The Sun.

A raid conducted on Cressy’s condo yielded an assortment of children’s clothes, shoes, and toys. Images from the search show the doctor’s suitcase filled with Barbie dolls and young girls’ clothing.

Some of Cressy’s belongings were seized, including computers, a laptop, camera, external hard drive, and DVDs. The items will also be thoroughly checked as the police are “doing more investigation” to find other potential victims.

According to the police, the doctor from Hove, East Sussex allegedly paid four girls aged 12, 13, 14 and 15 to have sex with him. It is also reported that he paid up to $3,000 to have sex with a virgin.

His Vietnamese girlfriend, identified as Chea Sokthy, is believed to have acted as Cressy’s accomplice. She has also been arrested, according to the Phnom Penh Post. The 27-year-old woman is under suspicion of procuring the would-be victims for Cressy.

According to Phnom Penh’s municipal anti-trafficking police chief Keo Thea, Cressy has been under police surveillance for months. During the investigation, the doctor has been observed to leave and return to Cambodia a number of times.
